The Practice of Stillness

With so much going on in the world and so much to do and be, why would anyone want to spend time in stillness?

Because that's what Jesus Christ did. The scriptures describe many times He retreated to find greater time alone with God, yet experiencing this in our own lives can be surprisingly challenging. Though we all have reasons to feel busy, hurried, and stressed, the day-to-day practices of gospel living offer abundant opportunities to stop the frantic doing and slow down so we can "be still" and know the living God for ourselves (Psalm 46:10).
