Families of Bethlehem is a portrayal of the nativity scene, but in a little different, more simple light--giving attention to the family. You will notice the focus of this piece is on Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus. While there are other elements of the nativity story strewn throughout the piece, the focus is on the home, or stable, and the family within. The home is a symbolic and literal place of refuge and safety, where the light of Jesus can shine bright amidst the warmth of family bonds. Our house can be located anywhere and be in any condition, but it takes a family to make it a home.
