Al Left me feeling closer to Christ, feeling empowered to use the Internet for good, and feeling proud to be LDS. By Jenna Marie - Published on Amazon.com
I've followed Al Carraway's blog for the past two years, and even though I've looked forward to every post and video, when she shared the news that she was writing a book I was a little worried... Would it just be a collection of her already published blog posts? Would it be something sterilized, something lacking her spirit and wisdom? For those who even remotely feel the same way, I promise this is not the case! Al has been able to write about her conversion and her faith from an even fresher perspective. She is able to share more personal details with the reader, which are used to help keep the spirit close as you read. Even more, the book is split into two parts: "my story" and "your story". In doing so, Al is able to teach by example and inspire us to do as she has done: live fearlessly by faith, never give up, and help build the Kingdom of God here on earth. This is a special story that I would share with my Young Women, my non-member family, and even my friends. You can tell that Al Carraway prayed for guidance during every step of writing his book, and I look forward to reading it again.
Al is everything that someone who has been changed and saved by Christ should be. Published on Amazon.com
Al is everything that someone who has been changed and saved by Christ should be. She's one of the happiest people you could ever meet, because she is filled with the light of Christ, and she has an incredible story and testimony that she is not ashamed of sharing. This book was truly inspired and is a must read for anyone struggling with their own conviction in the gospel. Al makes some wonderful thought provoking points in the many messages she shares in More Than the Tattooed Mormon, but my favorite theme she shares in her book is about how God can make so much more of us when we turn our hearts to Him than we could ever plan out for ourselves. I'm honored to have Al for an example, a friend, and a sister in the gospel of Jesus Christ! I love that she dedicates her book to the reader, and how selflessly she shares of her gifts of speaking and sharing testimony, for the benefit of God's children! She truly is a selfless disciple and an inspiration to members of the church everywhere.
This Book is A Must Read!!! By dawngabby - Published on Amazon.com
Her book was Heaven sent!! I truly believe she was inspired by God to write this book. It touched my heart in many ways & has inspired me to never give up & to do my best. Try my best. I think it's a book everyone should read & especially young women. I also feel she was directed to write what she wrote by the spirit. Such a great book!! Truly will bless lives, change lives & help others come unto Christ. I was able to hear her speak & it was amazing!! She's such a happy person & I think it's because of how she chooses to live her life. If you're wondering if you should buy this book, don't! Just do it!! It will bless your life & you'll feel inspired to share with others. It's really that good!!
Incredible! 18 By Whitney Van Pelt - Published on Amazon.com
All I can say is WOW. Followed Al on social media for a few years and knew I had to read this as soon as possible. I have been struggling to keep myself going religion-wise and found this book was heaven sent. Is it selfish to say Al wrote this particularly for me? Because she totally did. I clung to every word in this book and it rejuvenated me to try harder and to always seek more. Cannot even begin to thank her enough for the courage she has had, because her example sure has made a difference in my life. It is worth every penny!

Inspiring! By Melanie - Published on Amazon.com
I love to read conversion stories and heard about Al Fox (now Carraway) a few years ago. I didn't know too much about her so was interested to hear her story.
I loved that I felt like she was just talking to me, telling me what led up to her joining the church and how difficult it was for her after that. She actually had a great life and didn't feel like anything was missing. Things changed for her when she started asking questions. When she joined the church, her friends and family left her and she was completely alone. She was able to find the strength to keep reading and studying her scriptures and attending church. Moving to Utah was in some ways more difficult for her, though. She dealt with insensitive comments and looks from others but never let those keep her from living the way she knew she should.
Her story is inspiring! She seems like she would be fun to know. She gets real and shares some serious heartache she experienced. There are also lots of good times, too! I liked that she included what her current relationship is with her family.
This is more than just her story--she shares scriptures and passages that have helped her. I enjoyed hearing her perspective on those and so much more. It's easy to see why she's a highly sought after speaker. Her story is definitely thought-provoking, inspiring and well worth the read!
I received a copy of this book to review. My opinion is 100% my own.
